Mother's Day Brunch

Yesterday my brother and I prepared Mother's Day brunch.  He brought over fresh sashimi as an appetizer while I made croque madame.  I started the bread the night before and baked it the morning of.  Instead of my usual all white flour I replaced a third with whole wheat.  I've never baked with whole wheat flour before and admittedly it might not have been the best time to experiment, but it came out fine.  Inside the sandwich is applewood smoked ham and comte cheese. I fried and egg in butter (the best way to fry an egg!) and topped it off with béchamel sauce.  On the side is a micro green salad with baby heirloom tomatoes and goat cheese, drizzled with olive oil.  I should have used/made a salad dressing but personally I liked how plain it was.
