Felt Snowflakes

I love these felt snowflakes in hot pink and white by purl bee.  They'd also be cute as gift tags for the holidays!  Try making your own with their tutorial. (photo: The Purl Bee)

Sun dappled brunch with @shethinx at @thebutchersdaughter_official yesterday. When it comes to social events I’m very much a hermit, but it was wonderful meeting so many environmentally conscious women. Check my story to see the new #THINXforest before it disappears! Have you tried their underwear before? I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews! Goatless cheese and superfood crackers by @yvonnesvegankitchen. They’re gluten free and vegan, and so delicious! A lot of you saw this on my story and asked where you can buy ‘em—check out @yvonnesvegankitchen for a whole list of stockists in LA and OC! I also appreciate all the responses I received on my story yesterday. If you missed it yesterday I made it a highlight called “sustainability”. #vegan #glutenfree #yvonnesvegankitchen I’ve never had shakshuka before so I have nothing to compare it to, but I think it came out alright! What are your favorite recipe instagrams/blogs? I’ve been in a cooking rut lately. Mixing some @lonijane burcha on this fine caturday 😸. I love eating this with yogurt, oatmeal, or blended with dates. It’s also good to sprinkle on banana bread before baking it. I was able to buy all the ingredients in bulk as well. #bulkbinrecipe #zerowaste Bulk olive oil and vinegars from @weolivepasadena! Bring your own clean, dry bottle and they are happy to fill it for you. Not only were the oils I tried so delicious, they’re all locally sourced directly from growers throughout California. #trashfreeinla I wrote an article on putting together your own zero waste kit for @bust_magazine’s April/May issue! Everything pictured and listed are the exact items I personally use. It’s not meant to be an exhaustive list but a place to get started, with many items you might already have at home. Thank you @lisabutterworth for the opportunity and @juliastotz for the gorgeous photo! There is also an awesome tutorial on how to dye a scarf with flowers and food scraps in this issue, since so many of you loved the avocado pit dye! #trashfreeinla #bustmagazine #zerowaste #yayforearth If you missed it on my story, I dyed a couple of my @simple_ecology produce bags with an avocado pit! 🥑 When the pit oxidizes, it turns pink! There are lots of tutorials online, but you basically simmer a chopped avocado pit with water until the liquid turns pink, then let your fabric sit in it until you’ve reached your desired shade (it will wash out lighter). It was so much fun and I can’t wait to experiment with more natural dyes, which is why I bought the black beans in the photo! #zerowaste #yayforearth I finally found a toilet paper that’s low waste and sustainable: @whogivesacraptp. Toilet paper is one of those things I really dislike shopping for. Now it gets shipped to my door, it’s tree free, and 50% of their profits go to a good cause! Read the whole review on my blog! Direct link in profile. #sponsored #trashfreeinla #zerowaste
